5/16/2006 - A Simplified System
A customer of Birmingham-Toledo had a dual-scale batching system installed a few years ago. A systems integrator came into the plant and installed a system that they promised would be the perfect solution. The system never worked as the customer requested. Now, just a few years down the road, all of the components were failing. Rather than continue to repair and replace components, the customer asked that Birmingham-Toledo provide a system that would
A) Work as the system was originally intended to work
B) Include components that were high-quality, industrial grade, and
C) Be supported locally by BTI, a company that the customer trusts
We chose to install the world's most powerful weight-based instrumentation, the Mettler-Toledo JagXTREME. This would replace the existing, poor quality, weight indicators as well as a keypad that didn't work and a display screen that didn't work. The only thing that was needed was an external printer to replace the printer within the control panel that, of course, didn't work. The JagXTREME provided operator prompting and a numeric keypad, so those areas of the control box were simply covered with a stainless steel panel.
AFTER: SLEEK JAGXTREME SIMPLIFIES SYSTEM CONTROLS

BEFORE: POOR QUALITY COMPONENTS DIDN'T WORK FOR LONG

Poor quality components were replaced and the system was simplified. The messy wiring was removed and the sleek Mettler-Toledo JagXTREME took its place. The customer was thrilled that the true solution to their problem was finally realized after years of problems.
