8/7/2003 - 2002 Vulcan Materials Gold Award Recipient

Birmingham-Toledo, Inc. was the proud recipient of a 2002 Vulcan Materials Gold Award for vendor service.  The award, presented by the Vulcan Material Corporation Southern and Gulf Coast Division, signifies the highest rating given by Vulcan to its vendors. 

On a scale of one to ten with one being worst and ten being best, Birmingham-Toledo received a 9.01, which is “well above the 8.3 average for all Vulcan vendors,” according to Don Harrist of Vulcan Materials Corporate Purchasing.  Vulcan completes the rating as a means of identifying and resolving vendor problems.  “We also do it to recognize our best vendors,” stated Harrist.  “Any score in the nine’s is very impressive from my standpoint,” he continued.  “Keep in mind that I am seeing all the scores.  On a personal level, it makes me proud of my decision regarding (Vulcan Materials Corporation) truck scales.”

Birmingham-Toledo is also proud of the accomplishment and very pleased with the business partnership which we share with Vulcan Materials Corporation.
